We believe in a whole-foods based approach: organic whenever possible and lots of color for a variety of phytonutrients. Style of eating should be customized to the individual’s needs, genetic makeup, and goals. We don’t preach trends and hot topics, but instead stay ahead of emerging research for evidence-based recommendations.

What Is Functional Medicine

Functional medicine is a systems biology approach to identifying and addressing the root cause of common health concerns, such as gut issues, hormone imbalances, slow metabolism and poor sleep. The focus is on prevention and optimal health for the whole person – mind, body, and spirit.

Working With Our Dietitians

Cal-a-Vie’s dietitians have received extensive functional medicine training and provide comprehensive consults to look at your eating habits and factors that may affect your health, such as signs of digestive issues, hormone imbalances, sleep disturbances, mood, and nutrient status. This helps us identify root causes and where we need to support your health.

We may recommend specific foods or supplements, depending on your personal needs and goals, to therapeutically support your health. Lab testing is not a requirement to work with us but is encouraged to have data for a more targeted and personalized approach. We are also passionate about helping our guests integrate their personal health plan once they returnhome.
